Between the eye catching front and back cover of The Corral you will find it’s pages filled with independents. Whether they or authors/writers, photographers or musicians, artist/illustrators; we have a feature that will showcase their talents.
All independents who are published in the The Corral will have there name listed under Magazine Contributors Tab. Their name will be linked to a dedicated page.
That page will contain a short bio, links to their website or social media page and links to there works in the magazine.
Literature: The magazine will publish in every issue a minimum of 2 Poems, 2 pieces of Flash Fiction and 2 Short Stories. The Corral is not a genre specific magazine, we accept all genres including erotica.
The Corral also has the following features to help showcase the talents of the independent.
“Review’s by Christy” – Christy will choose a book written by an independent author. At the conclusion of reading the tale she will write a review and award the book one to five stars. Christy will post that review in this section.
“Books from the Barn” – The Corral will chose three published books by independent authors. The feature Books from the Barn will showcase these books along with where they are available for purchase.
“Stories from the Stables” – A Short Story written by one of The Corral Staff Writers will appear in this feature.
Contest Winner’s Entry: This is where the Visual Writing Prompt winner’s Flash Fiction (1,000 words or less) piece will be featured.
“Pics for the Pages” – The Corral will choose three pics from an independent photographer. The pics will be randomly placed through out the magazine or grouped together. Under each pic will be the photographs title, location, camera used and the photographers name. The letter from the Managing Editor located in the front of the magazine will also mention the photographers name.
“Songs from the Silo” – The Corral will choose three albums or songs by independent musicians to showcase. Like the Books from the Barn feature we will list where the music can be heard and purchased.
“Art from the Attic” – The Corral will choose three paintings, illustrations and or sketches from an independent artist. The art work will be randomly placed through out the magazine or grouped together. Under each piece will be the arts title, type of medium used (ex: Acrylic on canvas), size of original along with the artist name. The letter from the Managing Editor located in the front of the magazine will also mention the artist name.

“The Corral Spotlight” – This feature can showcase all the above. There maybe more than one spotlight in each issue. The Corral Spotlight is a short feature that informs the readers about the independent, touching on their work and personal life.
“The Corral Q and A” – Like The Corral Spotlight this feature is for all independents. One of The Corral’s interviewers will compose 20 off the wall questions for the independent to answer. The interview is conducted by email. The questions will pertain the independents work and personal life.
